Since this morning's report
The GIS perimeter is unchanged at 172,695 acres, still 81% contained (perimeter dated Sep 12, 8:34 PM PDT, about 19.5 hours old at capture) — no growth since this morning. InciWeb's update posted today at 3:18 PM PDT carries the same GIS figures and describes fire behavior as "areas of smoldering and creeping, with pockets of active backing, flanking, and occasional flare-ups and torching," expecting rain overnight to moderate activity further. Personnel assigned dropped to 737, down from 779 reported yesterday evening — the first meaningful drawdown mentioned in recent updates.
No zone anywhere on the perimeter has been edited since Sep 3. The Level 1 ring closest to the house holds at 2.0 mi NNE (unedited since Sep 1), and the nearest Level 3 ring is unchanged at 5.1 mi N. Nothing here trips the tracker's alert condition.
VIIRS logged zero detections region-wide in the last 24 hours — down from 10 this morning and the quietest reading in this tracker's history, consistent with heavy cloud cover and rain rather than a claim the heat is gone. All five near-Plain clusters are unchanged in distance, detection count, and distinct-day count from this morning — no new detections in any of them today — and all remain classified persistent, sitting inside the fire's existing mapped footprint: 6.1 mi NE (7 over 3 days), 6.7 mi NE (20 over 4 days), 8.5 mi NNE (3 over 2 days), 8.9 mi NNE (9 over 3 days), and 10.1 mi NNE (8 over 2 days). A full news sweep (InciWeb above; lakewenatcheeinfo.com — unreachable again; Lake Chelan Now, whose newest item is a Sep 12 piece on RAWS weather stations installed in the Chiwawa corridor and near Shady Pass, nothing on geometry; the Chelan County active-emergencies page, unreachable this cycle; wasmoke.blogspot.com, still showing its Sep 11 post, no new entry; and a general search, which surfaced a same-day NWCC interagency update blocked by egress policy [unconfirmed, and its named figures would only corroborate InciWeb] plus older articles from earlier growth stages — discarded as stale) found nothing new beyond InciWeb's personnel figure.
Fire weather
This afternoon runs light and northerly, around 5 mph — technically the drainage-danger direction, but at this speed and with rain falling it isn't a push worth worrying about — with an 80% chance of rain showers, high 58. Tonight holds north, around 7 mph (gusts to 18), a 40% chance of showers, low 47 rising to 49. Monday turns sunny and shifts back to the favorable northwesterly, around 7 mph, high 67; Monday night eases to northwest, 1–5 mph, low 40. No sustained north/northeast wind appears in this forecast window.
A Flood Watch remains in effect today, Sep 13, until 8 PM PDT for the region — no fire-weather (red flag) alert.
Air quality
Modeled AQI at the house is 29 (PM2.5 2.6 µg/m³) — Good, down slightly from this morning's 32 as rain continues to clear smoke from the valley.
Roads: no new road blocks logged.
