The GIS perimeter was freshly re-mapped this afternoon — 1:28 PM PDT, about three hours old at capture — but the numbers didn't move: still 171,163 acres, 81% contained, identical to this morning's snapshot. InciWeb's newest post, dated Sep 5, 9:36 AM, now shows the same 171,163 acres, 81% contained — the first time InciWeb has matched the GIS figure exactly, rather than trailing it by a few hundred acres. InciWeb also details the suppression effort: Complex Incident Management NW Team 12 has 1,098 personnel assigned (47 engines, 22 crews, 24 pieces of heavy equipment), including 240 active-duty Army soldiers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord working as hand crews since Aug 20. Fire behavior is smoldering and creeping across most zones with isolated torching possible in sheltered spots; Saturday conditions are expected to stay moderate with south-southwest winds and improved fuel moisture.

No zone anywhere on the perimeter was edited in the last 24 hours. The Level 1 ring closest to the house holds at 2.0 mi NNE (unedited since Sep 1), and the nearest Level 3 ring is unchanged at 5.1 mi N (last edited Sep 3, 2:31 PM). Nothing here trips the tracker's alert condition.

A general search turned up nothing dated to today beyond the InciWeb figures above: a Lake Chelan Mirror piece citing 171,302 acres 403'd on fetch (expected egress policy for a site outside the named-source list) — close to the GIS number but not independently corroborated, so not used — and pieces citing 100,000, 132,978, and 70,000 acres are stale articles from earlier growth stages and are not reported here.
