The last 24 hours
The GIS perimeter is flat at 172,401 acres, still 81% contained (perimeter dated Sep 10, 8:29 PM PDT, about 11.5 hours old at capture) — no change since last night's report. InciWeb's latest post remains its Sep 10 Daily Update (no Sep 11 post yet as of this capture), carrying the prior GIS figure (172,397 acres, 81%, 770 personnel) and describing fire behavior as intensifying somewhat with warmer, drier conditions — backing and flanking with isolated torching and short-range spotting possible where conditions align — and multiple smoke columns near Stormy Mountain, Trinity, and above the Mad River. It still expects cooling and rain returning Friday night into the weekend.
No zone anywhere on the perimeter has been edited since Sep 3. The Level 1 ring closest to the house holds at 2.0 mi NNE (unedited since Sep 1), and the nearest Level 3 ring is unchanged at 5.1 mi N. Nothing here trips the tracker's alert condition.
The two persistent interior heat clusters at 6.1 mi NE and 6.7 mi NE continue to show activity (7 and 20 detections respectively, the latter now with a Sep 11 detection) but remain inside the fire's existing footprint. More notably: the three single-day clusters flagged UNVERIFIED earlier this week — 8.5 mi NNE, 8.9 mi NNE, and 10.1 mi NNE — had shown no detections past Sep 9 through last night's report. Each logged a fresh detection today (Sep 11), breaking that one-day quiet stretch: 8.5 mi NNE is now 2 detections over 2 days (FRP up to 1.5), 8.9 mi NNE is now 9 detections over 3 days (FRP up to 7.8), and 10.1 mi NNE is now 8 detections over 2 days (FRP up to 8.2) — modest intensities, same range as before. All three remain inside the fire's mapped footprint. A full news sweep (InciWeb above, lakewenatcheeinfo.com — unreachable again, Lake Chelan Now, the county's active-emergencies page — unreachable this cycle, wasmoke.blogspot.com — no post newer than Sep 4, and a general search) turned up nothing dated today. Still watching, not leading — no zone edit and no news corroboration means this doesn't get treated as a new start yet.
Fire weather
Today runs light and southwesterly, 1–5 mph, mostly sunny, high 71 — the favorable quadrant, pushing the fire northeast and away from Plain. Tonight backs light and northerly, around 2 mph with a 30% chance of rain after 5 AM — technically the danger-signal direction toward Plain, but very light and arriving with rain. Saturday goes light easterly, 0–5 mph with a 30% rain chance; Saturday night brings north, 2–6 mph winds and a 70% likely-rain call — again the danger direction, but light and paired with meaningful precipitation. Sunday turns northwesterly, 6–12 mph (gusts to 23) with rain likely before 5 PM, 60% chance — back to favorable. No NWS fire weather alerts, no thunderstorm or outflow signal in the forecast. Net trend: cooler and wetter through the weekend.
Air quality
Modeled AQI at the house is 52 (PM2.5 10.8 µg/m³) — just into Moderate, up from 37 last night. No air quality alert.
Roads: no new road blocks logged.
