Since this morning's report
The GIS perimeter grew to 172,592 acres, still 81% contained (perimeter dated Sep 11, 6:17 AM PDT, about 10 hours old at capture) — up 191 acres since this morning's report. InciWeb's Sep 11 Daily Update, posted 12:50 PM PDT with the same figures (172,592 acres, 81%, 770 personnel), describes fire activity as having "increased today as warmer and drier conditions increased fuel receptiveness" — backing and flanking surface fire with localized torching where conditions align, and multiple smoke columns near Stormy Mountain, Trinity, and above the Mad River. It still expects cooling and rain to return Friday night into the weekend.
No zone anywhere on the perimeter has been edited since Sep 3. The Level 1 ring closest to the house holds at 2.0 mi NNE (unedited since Sep 1), and the nearest Level 3 ring is unchanged at 5.1 mi N. Nothing here trips the tracker's alert condition.
The two persistent interior heat clusters at 6.1 mi NE and 6.7 mi NE continue (7 and 20 detections respectively). More notably, the three clusters flagged UNVERIFIED earlier this week — 8.5 mi NNE, 8.9 mi NNE, and 10.1 mi NNE — each logged a further detection today, so all three now carry at least two distinct detection days and the pipeline classifies all five near-Plain clusters as persistent. Detection counts as of this pass: 8.5 mi NNE is 3 over 2 days (max FRP 14.4), 8.9 mi NNE is 9 over 3 days (max FRP 7.8), 10.1 mi NNE is 8 over 2 days (max FRP 8.2). All five remain inside the fire's mapped footprint. A news sweep (InciWeb above; Lake Chelan Now, which today carried only a wildlife-safety note mentioning fire crews, nothing on geometry; wasmoke.blogspot.com, whose Sep 11 post lists Little Giant among fires still showing satellite hot spots but expects only "minimal rain" for it and the Sisi fire this weekend; the Chelan County active-emergencies page, still showing its Aug 17 update and not current; and a general search, which surfaced only stories from early September or earlier) turned up nothing dated today beyond routine language. lakewenatcheeinfo.com did not return content this cycle. Still watching, not leading — no zone edit and no news corroboration means these clusters aren't treated as a new start.
Fire weather
This afternoon runs light and southeasterly, around 3 mph, partly sunny, high 72 — wind from the SE pushes the fire toward the NW, off the house's side of the perimeter, the favorable case. Tonight stays light SE, around 2 mph, mostly cloudy, low 48. Saturday goes light and variable (0–6 mph, SE) with a slight chance of rain after 5 PM; Saturday night turns north, around 5 mph with a 90% rain chance — the danger-signal direction toward Plain, but light and arriving with substantial rain. Sunday swings west, 5–9 mph (gusts to 22) with an 80% rain chance — back to favorable. No NWS fire weather alert; a Hydrologic Outlook is in effect through Sep 12 (a rain/runoff advisory, not a fire-behavior alert). No thunderstorm or outflow signal.
Air quality
Modeled AQI at the house is 54 (PM2.5 5.4 µg/m³) — Moderate, essentially flat from this morning's 52. No air quality alert.
Roads: no new road blocks logged.
