And for the first time this fire, a Lake Chelan complex showed up — LG Chelan - Level 3 (Go Now!) at 15.1 mi NE, plus two Level 1 zones at 17.2 mi E and 21.1 mi ENE. All four sit well outside the zones that matter for Plain, but the pattern — new Level 3 orders reaching toward Lake Chelan — lines up with a general-search headline, "Little Giant Fire Reaches Lake Chelan, Sparks New Evacuations" (yoursourceone.com); that site is blocked from direct fetch here so its exact timestamp is unconfirmed, but the GIS edit times above are the reconciled record regardless.
The GIS perimeter is dated Aug 28, 6:03 AM PDT at 161,132 acres, 25% contained, nearest mapped edge unchanged at 5.2 mi NNE. InciWeb's Aug 28, 10:09 AM update — the newer figure — puts it at 161,236 acres, also 25% contained; the two sources are essentially in agreement for the first time in days, a change from the 6,000+ acre gaps seen earlier this week. Assigned personnel dropped to 2,015, down from the low-2,200s cited in recent reports.
VIIRS logged a striking new signature overnight: a 23-detection cluster at 9 mi NE, single-day (Aug 27), peaking at FRP 851 — far hotter than anything flagged this week (yesterday's notable reading was FRP 58) and not part of the established, days-old heat footprint. It sits in the same direction as the new Entiat/Chelan zone activity, so read it as intense fire behavior on that flank rather than a standalone new start; UNVERIFIED as anything more specific, and no news source describes a distinct new ignition. Nearest detection to the house overall sits at 6.4 mi NE, FRP 12.97.

No Red Flag Warning today. Wind for the house and fire stays in the favorable northwest quadrant: NW 6–10 mph this afternoon (gusts to 20), NW 6–9 mph tonight, continuing NW into Saturday and Sunday. Nothing shifts toward the north/northeast danger quadrant through the forecast window. Saturday carries a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms — worth a glance for erratic outflow winds, though the base flow stays light and westerly.
