Since this morning's report
The GIS perimeter is essentially flat at 172,401 acres, still 81% contained (perimeter dated Sep 10, 12:11 PM PDT, about 4 hours old at capture) — up just 4 acres since this morning's report. InciWeb posted its Sep 10 Daily Update at 8:53 AM PDT (770 personnel), carrying this morning's GIS figure (172,397 acres, 81%). It describes fire activity as having intensified somewhat as "warmer and drier conditions increased fuel receptiveness," with backing and flanking surface fire and localized increases, and multiple smoke columns near Stormy Mountain, Trinity, and above the Mad River. It still expects overnight moderation despite a ridge-top wind disturbance today (12–17 mph, gusts 25–30 mph) — separate from the milder valley forecast below — with cooling and rain returning Friday night into the weekend.
No zone anywhere on the perimeter has been edited since Sep 3. The Level 1 ring closest to the house holds at 2.0 mi NNE (unedited since Sep 1), and the nearest Level 3 ring is unchanged at 5.1 mi N. Nothing here trips the tracker's alert condition.
The two persistent interior heat clusters at 6.1 mi NE and 6.7 mi NE continue to show activity (7 and 17 detections respectively, still latest dated Sep 9) but remain inside the fire's existing footprint. The three single-day clusters flagged UNVERIFIED earlier this week — 8.5 mi NNE (1 detection, FRP 1.5), 8.9 mi NNE (4 detections, FRP 7.8), and 10.1 mi NNE (6 detections, FRP 8.2) — show no detections dated past Sep 9 as of this afternoon's pass, same counts as this morning. A news sweep (InciWeb above, Lake Chelan Now, wasmoke.blogspot.com, and a general search) turned up nothing dated today beyond routine fire-weather language; lakewenatcheeinfo.com and the Chelan County active-emergencies page were both unreachable this cycle. Still watching, not leading.
Fire weather
This afternoon runs northwesterly, around 10 mph (gusts to 21), partly sunny, high 73 — the favorable quadrant, pushing the fire southeast and away from Plain. Tonight stays NW, 5–9 mph (gusts to 21) — still favorable, not the north/northeast danger regime. Friday goes light and NW (1–5 mph); Saturday brings a light NE, 0–5 mph breeze — the danger-signal direction, but very light and paired with a 60% chance of rain showers, favorable on balance. No NWS fire weather alerts, no thunderstorm or outflow signal.
Air quality
Modeled AQI at the house is 37 (PM2.5 5.5 µg/m³) — still Good, up slightly from 26 this morning. No air quality alert.
Roads: no new road blocks logged.
