Another quiet 24 hours on the ground: no zone edits near Plain, and the GIS perimeter hasn't refreshed since yesterday morning. InciWeb's newer report puts the fire at 155,974 acres, up from the GIS figure's 149,861 — call that the working-current number until the GIS layer catches up. Wind stays favorable out of the northwest, though PM2.5 spiked again overnight and the NWS Air Quality Alert expires at noon today.

The house remains inside the Level 1 "Get Ready" zone, unchanged since the Aug 25, 9:20 AM PDT redraw — no zone in the Sheriff's layer was edited in the last 24 hours. Level 2 "Get Set" holds at 2 mi NNE and Level 3 "Go Now" at 3.7 mi NNE, both untouched since Aug 16.

The GIS perimeter is still dated Aug 26, 8:28 AM PDT — unchanged from yesterday evening's reading, 149,861 acres and 23% contained, nearest mapped edge flat at 5.2 mi NNE. InciWeb's Aug 27, 10:49 AM update, newer than the GIS snapshot, puts the fire at 155,974 acres, also 23% contained — a jump of roughly 6,100 acres over the GIS figure. Per the usual rule, the newer number is working current; the GIS layer should catch up in the next refresh. InciWeb repeats the same resource narrative as recent reports (2,259 personnel, including the Army, National Guard, and Australia–New Zealand contingents already noted) and describes active fire behavior through the period — morning thunderstorm winds, an afternoon shift bringing surface spread, torching, and spotting — the same pattern as the last several days.

VIIRS logged a handful of new low-confidence detections at 9.0 mi NE and 9.4 mi NE overnight — single-day, low FRP, and sitting inside the same dense heat footprint that's covered the fire's northeast flank for a week, not an isolated new start. The 10.2 mi NW blip flagged in yesterday's report did not reappear; treat it as noise. Nearest detection overall holds at 5.8 mi N, FRP 1.08 — mild.

Wind holds light NW 6–13 mph today — the favorable quadrant, pushing the fire away from Plain — continuing NW 5–10 mph tonight and Friday, gusts to 24 mph. Nothing in the north/northeast danger quadrant through the forecast window. No Red Flag Warning is posted.

AQI 169 (PM2.5 120.1 µg/m³, PM10 121.1) as of 8 AM — the same overnight-inversion spike seen most mornings this week, worse than yesterday's 154 morning reading. NWS's Air Quality Alert, renewed yesterday at 10:50 AM, is due to expire today at 12:00 PM PDT; expect the usual afternoon clearing if the pattern holds.
