The GIS perimeter (mapped 5:14 PM PDT yesterday) has Little Giant at 170,985 acres, 73% contained — up just 17 acres from yesterday afternoon's snapshot, continuing the plateau of the past several days. InciWeb's most recent post is still the Sep 3, 8:34 AM entry: 170,784 acres and 65% contained. Per the standing rule here, the GIS figure is working-current, but the 8-point containment jump isn't yet corroborated by a named source — worth confirming in the next report rather than treating as settled. No zone anywhere on the perimeter was edited since yesterday afternoon's report; the Level 1 ring closest to the house holds at 2.0 mi NNE, unedited since Sep 1, and the Level 3 ring at 5.1 mi N is unchanged since its Sep 3 republish. Nothing here trips the tracker's alert condition.

Three heat clusters between 6.5 and 7.3 mi NE/NNE of the house are flagged persistent: false in today's snapshot, which normally means "possible new start." They aren't one: each is a single-day, low-to-moderate FRP detection dated Aug 28 that's only showing as isolated because the rolling VIIRS window dropped Aug 27 overnight, the same window-rollover pattern that produced an identical false flag at 6.3–6.4 mi in yesterday afternoon's brief.
